Elementary School

Three of the building’s facades take on a simple, box like form, allowing the school to blend naturally into the surrounding neighborhood. This restrained geometry helps the building sit comfortably within its context, responding to the scale and rhythm of nearby homes and structures. The school opens toward the landscape behind it, extending the adjacent green space beyond the building’s edge. Classrooms and outdoor learning areas are lifted to the second floor, creating a safe, more private environment for outdoor play and learning, separate from the activity of the public park below.

Between the library and the courtyard sits a fully enclosed glass reading room. This quiet space allows students to read while still feeling connected to the outdoors. Sheltered from the elements, students can experience the sense of being outside year round, reinforcing the school’s relationship with its natural surroundings.

Classrooms are organized as modular units across two floors, allowing for the separation of age groups. Kindergarten through 2nd grade occupy one floor, while 3rd and 4th grades, along with a flex space, are on the other. This layout encourages students to interact primarily with peers in their own age group.
